The person behind the app

I'm Ben
Harvey.

You don't know me from anyone, and I get why people are skeptical of stuff online. So I'm not going to hype myself up. I'd just rather show you I'm a real person who's actually lived some of this.

A few things that are true

“I wasn’t aware of all the potential for me in Silicon Valley until I got there. People get funding for ideas, because they can build them. It was a culture shock. It’s inspiring.”
That’s me, quoted in a nonprofit’s piece on Code2040 — the program that first sent me to Silicon Valley. It’s also how I ended up meeting people I never thought I’d be in a room with.

Good companyThat's Ben Horowitz in the middle.Billionaire investor, co-founder of Andreessen Horowitz — the firm behind a huge share of the internet you actually use: Facebook, Airbnb, Coinbase, GitHub, and on. I first met him through Code2040. Still doesn't quite feel real.

I grew up in Baltimore County. I played Division-I football, studied computer science, and got a shot through a program called Code2040 that put me in Silicon Valley. From there I built apps, worked at Meta, and got to be around people who build things I admire.

These days I'm just building the coach I wish I'd had — and staying in the kind of shape I talk about. That's really the whole story.

If any of that earns me a minute of your trust, I'll try to be worth it.
