benharveyfit ai — Privacy Policy

benharveyfit ai ("the app", and the website at benharveyfit.com) is a chat-first AI accountability coach that runs the Ben Harvey Protocol — it logs your meals, workouts, weight, and sleep, and coaches you every day. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Account: the email address you sign up with.
• Your logs: the meals, weights, workouts, and (optionally) sleep you record, plus your chat messages with the coach.
• Photos you send in chat (optional): photos you share with the coach (for example a bathroom-scale photo) are stored privately in your account in storage that only you can access. They are never used to train models, never made public, and never sold. Deleting your account permanently removes them.
• Form-check videos (optional): if you send a short clip of a set for a form critique, the video is sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to identify the lift and coach your technique, and is stored privately in your account. Never used to train models, never shared or sold, removed on account deletion.
• Meal photos (optional): if you use photo meal-scan, the photo is stored privately in your account and sent to Google Gemini only to estimate protein/calories and create the coaching reply. It is never used to train models, never made public, never sold, and is permanently removed when you delete your account.
• Physique scan (optional): if you ask the coach to read your physique, the photo or short video you send is stored privately in your account and sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to compute your physique read (a rank/band, not a public score). It is never used to train models, never made public, never sold, and is permanently removed when you delete the scan or your account.
• Apple Health (only if you connect it): if you tap "Connect Apple Watch & Health" in the iOS app, the app reads your body weight, sleep, and workout samples from Apple Health so it can log them for you automatically. It also writes back your own logged weigh-ins and meal macros (protein and calories) to Apple Health so your Health record stays complete — only for entries you log in the app, and only if you connect Health. Health data stays private in your account, is never used to train models, never shared or sold, and you can revoke access any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → benharveyfit.

We do not collect your contacts, location, or device identifiers for tracking, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

Website analytics

The website (benharveyfit.com) uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless measurement tool, to count visits and understand which steps of the signup funnel people reach. To measure that funnel and connect a web visit to a later app install, the site also stores a random first-party id (and any campaign tags from the link you arrived on) in your browser's local storage. This id is not tied to your name, is not shared with advertisers, and is not used to track you across other websites or apps. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

How we use it

• To save your progress and show it back to you across sessions and devices.
• To generate coaching responses. Your message and a short summary of your day's logs are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to produce the reply. This data is used only to serve you — never to train models, never sold.
• To understand whether the app is working. The app records product analytics events, such as onboarding completion, logs, coach replies, settings changes, restore attempts, and purchases, in your private account. These events are used to improve reliability and the product experience; they are not used for ads or cross-app tracking.

Where it's stored

Your data, including any photos and videos you share, is stored securely with our backend provider (Supabase) in per-user private storage. Each account's data is isolated so that you can only access your own records.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data — including every photo and video — at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app. This action is immediate and irreversible.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
